The Proceedings of the Parliament of Ireland continued from Page 299 of the preceding Register.

N the 28th of October Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer reported from the Com mittee of the whole Houfe appointed to confider of Ways and Means for raifing the Supply; that they had come to feve ral Refolutions, which he read in his Place, and after delivered at the Table, where the fame were again read, and are as follow:

1. Refolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That towards raifing the Supply granted to his Majefty, the feveral and refpective additional Rates, Duties, and Impofitions upon Beer, Ale, Strong Waters, Tobacco, and other Goods and Merchandizes, granted and continu'd from the 25th Day of December, 1723, until the 25th of December, 1725, be further granted, continued, raifed, collected, levied, and paid unto his Majefty, from the 25th Day of December, 1725, until the 25th Day of December, 1727, inclufive.

2. That towards raifing the Supply the feveral and refpective, and other additional Rates, Duties and Impofitions for and upon all Sorts of Wines and Strong Waters, and Spirits perfectly made and diftilled of Wine, that Shall be imported into, this Kingdom, granted and con tinued to his Majefty laft Seffion of Parliament, be raised,

paid, and continued from the faid 25th Day of Dec. 1725, to the 25th Day of Dec. 1727, inclufive.

3. That towards raifing the Supply granted to his Majesty the further additional Duties of Excife upon Beer, Ale, and other Liquors, granted and continued to his Majefty laft Seffion of Parliament, be raised, paid, and continued from the faid 25th Day of Dec, 1725, to the 25th Day of Dec. 1727, inclufive.

4. That towards raifing the Supply granted to his Majefty, the further additional Duty upon all Aqua Vitæ, Strong Waters, or Spirits made or diftilled within this Kingdom for Sale, granted to his Majefty laft Seffion of Parliament, be raised, paid, and continued from the faid 25th Day of Dec. 1725, to the 25th Day of Dec. 1727, inclufive.

5. That towards raifing the Supply granted to his Majefty, the further additional Duty upon every Gallon of Brandy or Spirits above Proof, which fhall be imported into this Kingdom, granted to his Majesty laft Seffion of Parliament, be raifed, paid, and continued from the faid 25th Day of Dec. 1725, to the 25th Day of Dec. 1727, inclufive.

6. That towards railing the Supply granted to bis Ma jefty, the Claufe or Claufes, for preventing the Mixing of Small Worts with Strong Ale or Beer, after the Gau ger has taken the Gauge thereof, be continued, and be in Force from the 25th Day of Dec. 1725, to the 25th Day of Dec. 1727, inclufive.

7. That towards raifing the Supply granted to his Ma jefty, the Claufe or Claufes, impowering Gaugers to take an Account of all Wash and Low Wines in Difillers Hands, the better thereby to afcertain the Quantity of Aqua Vitæ, Strong Waters, and Spirits by them diftilled, be continu'd, and in Force, from the faid 25th Day of Dec. 1725, to the 25th Day of Dec. 1727, inclufive.

8 That the Sum of 6 d. per Pound, and all other Fees which fhall or may be payable out of the Aids granted this prefent Seffion of Parliament, be applied towards raising the Supply granted to his Majefty.

9. That a Tax be laid upon all Salaries, Profits of Employments, Fees and Penfions upon the Civil and Military Establishments, payable to Perfons living out of this Kingdom, except the Lord Lieutenant, or other Chief Governor or Governors of this Kingdom, for the Time being; and alfo fuch as by their Offices and Em

ployments are obliged to an immediate Attendance upon the Perfon of his Sacred Majefty, or their Royal Highneffes the Prince and Princess of Wales, or their Iffue, during their Continuance in fuch their Offices and Employments, and alfo the Officers of the Army, and HalfPay Officers upon this Establishment.

10. That the faid Tax laid upon all Salaries, Profits of Employments, Fees and Penfions, be four Shillings per Pound.

11. That the faid Tax of 4s. per Pound upon all SaJaries, Profits of Employments, Fees and Penfions, do commence the 25th Day of Dec. 1725, and continue to the 25th Day of Dec. 1727, inclufive.

12. That towards raifing the Supply granted to his Majesty, the additional Duty on all Coffee, Tea, Chocolate, and Cocoa Nuts, which fhall be imported into this Kingdom, granted the latt Sellion of Parliament, be raifed, paid, and continu'd from the 25th Day of Dec. 1725, to the 25th Day of Dec. 1727, inclufive.

13. That towards raifing the Supply granted to his Majefty, the further additional Duty of 3 s. and 47. per Gallon be laid upon all Brandy or Spirits above Proof, which fhall be imported into this Kingdom, to be raised, paid, and continued, from the 25th Day of Dec. 1725, to the 25th Day of Dec. 1727, inclufive.

To which Refolutions the Question being feverally put, the Houfe did agree; and it was order'd, Ift, That Leave be given to bring in Heads of a Bill upon the faid Refolutions. 2dly, That it be an Inftruction to the faid Committee to infert a Claufe or Claufes in the Heads of a Bill, to fecure the Payment of the principal Sum of 500001.advanced to the Government, pursuant to a former Vote of this Houfe; together with the Intereft for the fame, at the Rate of feven Pounds per Cent, during the Time it fhall continue unpaid. 3dlv, That it be allo an InfiruEign to the faid Committee to inferta Claufe or Claufes in the faid Heads of a Bill for applying the Duties laid on Tea, Coffee, Chocolate, and Cocoa Nuts, for the Ufe and Encouragement of the Hempen and Flaxen Manufactures of this Kingdom. The fame Day (07. 28)a Petition of Major Toby Purcell, fetting forth, That be being at his Poft, as Major of Foot, inthe Inland of Miporca, was by a violent Fever deprived of his Senfes, and his Recovery being defpair'd of, his Friends, fold his' Commiflion without his Knowledge or Confent; and praying in Confideration of his Father's dong and faith
