30 And the Remnant that is escaped of the House of Judah, fhall yet again take root downward, and bear Fruit upward.

31 For out of Judah fhall go forth a Remnant, and they that efcape out of Mount Zion: the Zeal of the LORD of Hofts fhall do this.

32 Therefore thus faith the LORD concerning the King

37 And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the House of Nifroch his God, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his Sons fmote him with the Sword and they efcaped into the Land of Armenia; and Efar-haddon his Son reigned in his ftead,

1 Hezekiah receiving a Meffage of Death, by Prayer hath his Life lengthened. 8 The Sun goeth ten Degrees backward for a Sign of that Promise. 12 Berodach-baladan fending to vifit Hezekiah, becaufe of the Wonder, hath Notice of his Treafures. 14 Ifaiah understanding thereof, foretelleth the Babylonian Captivity. 20 Manaffeh fucceedeth Hezekiah.

Na thofe Days was Hezekiah fick unto Death and the Prophet Ifaiah came to him, and faid unto him, Thus faith the LORD, Set thine House in order, for thou fhalt die, and not live.

2 Then he turned his Face to the Wall, and prayed unto the LORD, faying,

13 Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy Servants.

3. I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in Truth, and with a perfect Heart, and have done that which was good in thy fight and Hezekiah wept fore.

4 And it came to pass afore Ifaiah was gone out into the middle Court, that the Word of the LORD came to him, faying,

5 Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the Captain of my People, Thus faith the LORD, the GOD of David thy Father, I have heard thy Prayer, I have feen thy Tears: behold, I will heal thee; on the third Day thou fhalt go up into the House of the LORD.

Days fifteen Years, and I will deliver thee and this City out of the Hand of the King of Affyria, and I will defend this City for mine own Sake, and for my Servant David's Sake.

7 And Ifaiah faid, Take a Lump of Figs. And they took and laid it on the Boyl, and he recovered.

8 And Hezekiah faid unto Ifaiah, What fhall be the Sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I fhall go up into the House of the LORD the third Day?

9 And Ifaiah faid, This Sign fhalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the Thing that he hath spoken: fhall the Shadow go forward ten Degrees, or go back ten Degrees?

10 And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the Shadow to go down ten Degrees: nay, but let the Shadow return backward ten Degrees.

II And Ifaiah the Pro

phet cried unto the LORD, and he brought the Shadow ten Degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the Dial of Ahaz.

14 Then came Ifaiah the Prophet unto King Hezekiah, and faid unto him, What faid thefe Men? from whence came they unto thee? and Hezekiah faid, They are come from a far Countrey, even from Babylon.

15 And he faid, What have they feen in thine Houfe? and Hezekiah anfwered, All the Things that are in mine

House have they feen: there is nothing among my Treafures, that I have not fhewed them.

16 And Isaiah said unto Hezekiah, Hear the Word of the LORD.

17 Behold, the Days come, that all that is in thine House, and that which thy Fathers have laid up in store unto this Day, fhall be carried into Babylon: nothing shall be left, faith the LORD.

18 And of thy Sons that shall iffue from thee, which thou fhalt beget, fhall they take away, and they fhall be Eunuchs in the Palace of the King of Babylon.

19 Then faid Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good is the Word of the LORD which thou haft spoken. And he faid, Is it not good if PEACE and TRUTH be in my DAYS?

21 And Hezekiah flept with his Fathers: and Manaffeh his Son reigned in his stead.

II. CHRON. CHAP. XXXIII.

Manaffeh his wicked Reign: 3 He fetteth up Idolatry, and would not be admonished: 11 He is carried away into Babylon: 12 Upon his praying to GOD he is released, and putteth down Idolatry: 18 His Acts: 20 He dying, Amon fucceedeth him. 21 Amon reigning wickedly, is flain by his Servants. 25 The Murderers being flain, Jofiah is made King.

ANASSEH was twelve Years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five Years in Jerufalem :

2 But did that which was evil in the fight of the LORD, like unto the ABOMINATION of the HEATHEN, whom the LORD had CAST OUT before the Children of Ifrael.

3. For he built again the HIGH PLACES which Hezekiah had broken down, and he reared the Altar for BAALIM, and worshipped all the Host of Heaven, and ferved them.

4 Also he built ALTARS in the Houfe of the LORD, whereof the LORD had faid, In Jerufalem fhall my Name be for ever.

5 And he built ALTARS for all the HOST of Heaven, in the two Courts of the House of the LORD.

6 And he caused his CHILDREN to pass through the FIRE in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom: alfo he obferved
