Neither can they die any more for they are equal unto the angels, and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. But as touching the resurrection of the dead, Luke xx. 37. now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed: Mark xii. 26. have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? Christ replies to the Pharisees. MATT. Xxii. 34-41. MARK Xii. 28-35. But when the Pharisees had heard that he had Matt. xxii. 34. put the Sadducees to silence, they also were ga thered together. Then one of them, which was a Lawyer, Matt. xxii. 35, one of the Scribes came, and having heard them Mark xii. 28. reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Matt. xxii. 35. Master, which is the first commandment of all? which is the great commandment in the law? And Jesus answered and said unto him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: Matt. xxii. 36. Mark xii. 28. Matt. xxii. 36. Mark xii. 29. Matt. xxii. 37. Mark xii. 33. Mark xii. 34. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. And the Scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question. MATT. xxii. ver. 37. and part of ver. 38, 39. Jerusalem. 37 Jesus said unto him, k Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, k Deut. vi. 5. and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
