B-1.0 Examples

B-1.1 The examples of the types of services and work which can be provided by AEC to the Project include but are not limited to:

B-1.1.1 Technical and management advice or counsel regarding engineering, design, design analysis, development, procurement, fabrication, qualification testing, site installation, maintenance, operation and quality assurance;

B-1.1.2 Environmental technology in such areas as radiological and heat rejection effects on the environment from operation of an LMFBR in support of the submission of the final environmental report and future clean operation of the Plant;

B-1.1.3 Reactor technology in such areas as fuel and materials, physics, shielding, sodium chemistry, and component technology;

B-1.1.4 Nuclear safety technology for the PSAR and FSAR and safe and reliable operation of the Plant;

B-1.1.5 Design evaluations including conceptual designs and tradeoff studies for the purpose of determining the advantages and disadvantages of alternative design approaches;

B-1.1.6 Plant and reactor engineering design technology and designs, system specifications, system design descriptions, drawings and interface requirements for prototype nuclear steam system components and systems;

B-1.1.7 Prototype nuclear steam supply system components for prooftesting including standards and specifications, shipping, installation, operation and maintenance procedures;

B-1.1.8 Proof testing of prototypic NSSS components and other related testing to demonstrate performance, service life, installation, repair, and maintenance techniques;

B-1.1.9 Technology, designs and standards for and test of statistically reliable instrumentation such as high temperature fast-neutron flux and temperature sensors, sodium flow meters and inspection devices;

B-1.1.10 In-service inspection techniques, equipment and related procedures for monitoring the structural integrity of and irradiation and corrosion effects on critical NSSS components during their service life; and

B-1.1.11 Programs, procedures and manuals, and qualification criteria for training and qualifying operating staff.

PROVISIONS APPLICABLE TO ACTIVITIES INVOLVING THE USE OF AEC FUNDS MADE AVAILABLE TO PMC PURSUANT TO PARAGRAPH 4.1.1 OF THE CONTRACT AND TO OTHER PROJECT ACTIVITIES TO THE EXTENT APPLICABLE BY LAW.

With respect to Project Activities by TVA and CE, provisions
in this Appendix C shall be deemed to refer to TVA or CE, as
the case may be, in lieu of PMC. Paragraph C-16.0 "Allowable
Cost Principles" although applicable to activities involving
the use of AEC funds is not applicable by law. To the extent
TVA has established policies and procedures pertaining to
the clauses contained in this Appendix C, TVA and AEC shall
at the appropriate time determine which shall be followed.
Said Allowable Cost Principles in this Appendix shall not
limit the obligation of AEC, or the rights of corporate or
individual Indemnitees pursuant to any agreement of
Indemnification executed in accordance with provisions of
paragraph 9.2.
