THE BAND OF HOPE REVIEW. ONE HALFPENNY MONTHLY.

With the January number the BAND OF HOPE REVIEW starts upon the twenty-ninth year of its existence. The new volume opens fittingly with a splendid full-page picture by W. Gunston, the well-known delineator of Biblical scenes. It represents the Boy-Christ discovered by His mother talking to the learned doctors in the TempleWist ye not that I must be about My Father's business?' This picture forms the subject-matter of a New Year's Address to Band of Hope children by the Rev. This bright little periodical is universally acknowledged to be the finest parer for the nursery, and the January number cannot fail to enhance its reputation. First, there is a charming PRESENTATION PLATE, printed in colours, entitled 'A Serious Case,' which will delight every child that sees it. Another special feature of this number will be A COMPLETE PICTURE ALPHABET, with rhymes, which is sure to be helpful to mothers, as it is particularly we'l adapted for the grasp of small minds, being written in such a way as to fasten itself at once on the memories of the little ones. Two very beautiful SCRIPTURE PICTURES are also to be found in this number. The MUSIC PAGE which has been so much appreciated, will be continued throughout the year.

In future each number will contain at least one-fourth more reading matter than formerly. One special feature of the new volume will consist of a series of Gospel articles by Mrs. Eva Travers Evered Poole, the first of which will appear in the January number.
