10. DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION

Build a new center with OMS/DS-GS Shop using standard masonry construction. Provide concrete hardstand for tracked vehicles and asphalt parking for military and private vehicles. A/C-0. 11. Requirement: 24,595 SF Adequate: 0 SF Substandard: 5,640 SF Project: 150-Member Ctr with organizational, direct support general support maintenance shop.

Requirement: This project is required to provide an adequate training building and maintenance shop for a maintenance company having both an organizational and a direct and general support mission. It will replace the existing center which is deficient in mess, storage and administrative space and has no assembly hall or rifle range. Privately owned and military vehicle parking space and maintenance shop space are inadequate. Current Situation: Unit occupies a training building, constructed in 1960 having a rated capacity of 25 men; a one-bay maintenance shop constructed at the same time, and 10,632 SF of leased space in two exhibition barns at the County Fair Grounds. The two leased buildings are located on a flood plain and have been flooded repeatedly in recent years.

Impact If not Provided: If this project is not approved, the existing facilities will continue in use with a continuing adverse impact on the unit's ability to achieve and maintain unit and individual training and readiness.
