This guide is for retired members of the Air Force and their families, as well as for those members approaching retirement. It discusses their status after retirement with specific emphasis on rights, benefits, and privileges. Additionally, it designates restrictions or requirements that apply to them as retired members. Members are urged to read this pamphlet and discuss with their family those parts which particularly affect them. Active duty personnel should request additional guidance as necessary, from their servicing Central Base Personnel Office (CBPO); retired personnel should submit such requests to USAFMPC (AFPMSDM1), Randolph AFB Tex 78148. This pamphlet may not be cited as an authority for specific actions; however, it is based on current policy and laws, generalized to cover most common situations. Official determinations and actions will be based on the appropriate policy or law.
