GeburtstagDie Festschrift ist dem in Zürich lebenden Neogräzisten und Byzantinisten Pavlos Tzermias gewidmet, in der Laudatio als Grieche - Eidgenosse - Europäer gewürdigt. Tzermias ist als Hochschuldozent und Verfasser mehrerer Bücher und Abhandlungen zu zentralen Fragen seiner Fachgebiete hervorgetreten. Als Berichterstatter der Neuen Zürcher Zeitung für Griechenland und Zypern hat er dem breiten Leserpublikum Kenntnisse über Politik und Kultur Griechenlands vermittelt und damit das Verständnis für aktuelle Probleme des Landes gefördert. Wissenschaftler verschiedener Länder Europas haben ihm diesen Band mit Arbeiten aus ihren Forschungsgebieten gewidmet.
