Mr. Chairman and members of the committee, I am grateful for the opportunity to testify before you. I particularly want to thank Senator Eastland and Mr. Sourwine and dedicate my remarks to the men of A Company, 1st, of the 7th Cavalry of the 1st Cavalry Division, the "fightingest" outfit in Vietnam, of which I was proud to be part. I am Richard Barrett, a twice-wounded infantry veteran of the Vietnam war. I reside at 171 Horseshoe Circle, Jackson, Miss., and am employed by Dixie Design Co., an advertising firm in that city. I am also speaker and first officer of America's Victory Force, an organization primarily of Vietnam veterans, in six States and the District of Columbia, which was chartered in Alabama this year for nonprofit, charitable, educational, fraternal, and patriotic purposes, with headquarters in Jackson, Miss., and national field office in Washington, D.C. 595 |
