DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION Construct an automatic coal-fired heating plant and add automatic coal-fired boilers to an existing plant. Plants are to have a combined capacity of 8.8 Mega BT!'. Construct two electrical substations of 20,000 volts each with high and low voltage switch gear and 400 KVA transformers. Relocate and extend high voltage and communication cables. Not sited in a flood plain. 11. REQUIREMENT: 36,1 MB Adequate: 27.3 MR Substandard: PROJECT: Construction of a heating plant and two electrical substations. Fxpansion of an existing heating plant. REQUIREMENT: This proiect is required to provide heating, domestic hot water and electrical power for buildings at Rhine Ordnance Barracks. Projects in this program dependent upon these facilities are: R951-128, Motor Repair Shop: R951-111, Dining Facilities and R951-103 Barracks. These projects are required to provide facilities for a PATRIOT battalion to be stationed at Rhine Ordnance Rarracks.

CURRENT SITUATION: The existing heating plant and electrical substations are unable to provide the support required for additional construction at Rhine Ordnance Barracks.

IMPACT IF NOT PROVIDED: Heat, hot water and electricity will not be
available for the new facilities to be constructed at Rhine Ordnance
Barracks.

NATO INFRASTRUCTURE CATEGORY: This project is the S share of a proiect
jointly funded with NATO. The IS portion is not within an established
NATO Infrastructure Category (including the Reinforcement Support
Category) for common funding, nor is it expected to become eligible.
The NATO portion is programmed in Slice 34.

11. REQUIREMENT: 37,598 SF Adequate: None Substandard: PROJECT: Construction of a NATO and MCA jointly funded tactical equipment shop at Anderson Barracks, Dexheim, Germany.

REQUIREMENT: This project is required to provide maintenance facilities for the 210 wheeled vehicles, and 151 trailers assigned to the PATRIOT Headquarters Rattery and four firing batteries to be stationed at Anderson Barracks.

CURRENT SITUATION: Existing facilities are over-utilized by existing equipment and cannot be used to support deployment of the PATRIOT system. IMPACT IF NOT PROVIDED: Adequate maintenance facilities will not be available, adversely affecting equipment performance and combat readiness. NATO INFRASTRUCTURE CATEGORY: This project is not within an established NATO Infrastructure category for commond funding, nor is it expected to become eligible. A portion of the facility is within NATO criteria (Minimum Military Requirements) and is programmed in Slice 33.
