Three copies of this roll should be made out when used as a Muster and Descriptive Roll, (when used as a Muster-in Roll, see note 6,)— one to be retained by the superintendent, one to be sent immediately to the Adjutant General, and the third to accompany the detachment, and to be disposed of as directed in note 3.

5. Men belonging to different regiments will not, under any circumstances, be put upon the same roll.

6. This blank will be used for mustering in volunteers for old regiments as well as for Muster and Descriptive Rolls for both Regulars and Volunteers. When used as Muster-in Rolls, the mustering officer will add to his certificate that the men have been duly mustered in, in accordance with the Mustering Regulations, and distribute the 4 copies as required for Muster-in Rolls.

7. The columns under "Mustered into Service" will be left blank for men enlisted in the Regular Army.
