A BILL

To amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 3 That the effective date of the following provisions of the 4 Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, approved June 25, 5 1938, except to the extent that such provisions may relate 6 to the enforcement of sections 502 (j), 505, and 601 (a), 7 and except as provided in section 2 of this Act, is hereby 8 postponed until January 1, 1940: Sections 402 (c), 403 (e) 9 (1), (i), and (j), 501 (a) (4), 502 (b), 502 (d) to 10 (h) inclusive, 601 (e), and 602 (b).

11 SEC. 2. (a) The provisions of section 1 of this Act 12 shall not apply to the provisions of section 502 (d) and
