Fiscal Year Appropriation included in Salaries, Officers and Employees under the heading "Committee Employees"

One year equals one-half of the $10,000 per Congress authorized by Section 134a of the Legislative Reorganization Act of 1946 as amended plus additional amounts for the same purposes authorized by Senate resolution. These funds are available for expenses of the Committee other than salary and are paid from the appropriation "Inquiries and Investigations".

(c) These funds are available for salaries and expenses and are paid from the appropriation "Inquiries and Investigations". The authorized period for these funds is from March 1 through February 28 of each year.

FOLDING DOCUMENTS

Mr. RIDGELY. For the appropriation for Folding Documents, the increase of $935 is a full year revision of increased pay costs.

MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS

Miscellaneous Items, the increase of $1,442,580 is represented by seven items. These include the full year revision of the increased pay costs in the amount of $518, an increase in the health benefits agency contribution of 285, an increase in the telegraph allocation, as part of the senatorial consolidated office allowance of $215,525, and an increase in the amount due the Employees Compensation Fund, in the amount of $3,586.

A decrease for four nonrecurring items included in the fiscal year 1974 appropriation as follows: the purchase, lease and modification of computer software, a reduction of $100,000; additional folding equipment, a reduction of $130,000; computer support for the payroll system, a reduction of $60,000, and additional computer software, a reduction of $60,000. This totals to an aggregate reduction of $350,000.

CONTRACT AUTHORITY FOR TECHNICAL PERSONNEL FOR SECRETARY OF THE

SENATE

The next item is the full year revision of the contract authority for technical personnel for the Secretary of the Senate under the Federal Elections Act for an increase of $20,000; the full year revision of the amount authorized for detailed personnel for the Secertary of the Senate under the Federal Elections Act in the amount of $25,000, and the full year revision of the amount authorized for travel expenses for the Office of the Secretary under the Federal Election Act in the amount of $20,000, which is a total increase of $65,000 and then the final one, the new item for reimbursement to the General Services Administration for office space occupied by Senators in their home State in the amount of $1,507,666.

I would like to submit at this point for the record schedule 10 which is the estimated apportionment of this appropriation.
