(H. 67.) Mr. Holmes, from the committee on land taxes, to whom was referred a bill entitled "an act laying a tax on a part of Cambridge," reported the same without amendment.

(H. 75.) Mr. Eaton, from the committee on education, to whom was referred a bill entitled "an act establishing an academy in the town of Hartford in the county of Windsor," reported the same without amendment, and it was read the third time and paɛsed.

MR. PRESIDENT: The House of Representatives concur with the Senate in the amendment proposed to the resolution relating to an examination of the Bank of Windsor and the Essex Bank. The House of Representatives concur with the Senate in passing the thirty-third chapter of the revised statutes, with a proposed amendment, in which they ask the concurrence of the Senate.

The said thirty-third chapter was taken up, and the amendment proposed by the House of Representatives was read and concurred in. Chapter 67 of the revised statutes was read the third time and passed.

The following chapters of the revised statutes were severally read the first and second time, and committed, as follows:

A message from the House of Representatives by Mr. Merrill, their clerk:

MR. PRESIDENT: The House of Representatives have passed a resolution for a joint assembly for the election of a Bank Inspector, Bank Commissioner, Reporter of the decisions of the Supreme Court and an agent to settle the concerns of the Vermont State Bank, in which they ask the concurrence of the Senate.

The said resolution is as follows:

Resolved, by the Senate and House of Representatives, That both houses meet in joint assembly on Wednesday next, at three o'clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of electing a Bank Inspector, Bank Commissioner, a Reporter of the decisions of the Supreme Court, and an agent to settle the concerns of the Vermont State Bank.

Which was read and passed in concurrence.

The Senate, as in committee of the whole, resumed the consideration of the eighteenth chapter of the revised statutes, and after some time spent therein,

On motion of Mr. McMillan,

Ordered, That said chapter be laid on the table.
