The Committee on the Judiciary, to whom was referred the bill (H. R. 2734) for the relief of Joseph M. Henry, having considered the same, do now report the bill to the Senate favorably, without amendment, and recommend that the bill do pass.

The purpose of the bill is to appropriate $546 for the relief of Joseph M. Henry as reimbursement.

To accompany H. R. 2889

The Committee on the Judiciary, to whom was referred the bill (H. R. 2889), for the relief of Aubrey F. Houston, having considered the same, do now report the bill to the Senate favorably, without amendment, and recommend that the bill do pass.

The purpose of the proposed legislation is to pay the sum of $1,701.94 to Aubrey F. Houston, of Los Angeles, Calif., in full settlement of all claims against the United States for loss of personal property in fire on November 1, 1945, when the Furnace Creek ranger residence (Furnace Creek Ranger Station, quarters No. 4, outside, southeast corner of Furnace Creek Camp) occupied by the said Aubrey F. Houston was destroyed by fire originating from electric light fixtures.

REPORT

[To accompany H. R. 3937)

The Committee on the Judiciary, to whom was referred the bill (L. R. 3937) for the relief of William C. Reese, having considered the game, do now report the bill to the Senate favorably, without amendment, and recommend that the bill do pass.

The purpose of the proposed legislation is to authorize payment of $3,500 to William C. Reese, of Birmingham, Ala., in full satisfaction of his claim against the United States for personal injuries sustained from the kick of a mule on October 15 or 25, 1917, while the said William C. Reese was in the performance of his duty as an employee of the Goodrich Construction Co., engaged in the construction of an Army camp as a subcontractor under authority of the United States, said injury having been sustained through the negligent or reckless act of a soldier of the United States Army in charge of such mule while in the performance of his duties as such soldier.
