The Committee on Appropriations reports the accompanying bill making supplemental appropriations for the Treasury and Post Office Departments for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1949.

The hearings held by the House were comprehensive and fully adequate to present all of the facts necessary for a determination. The Departments expressed themselves as having no requests or suggestions for change nor were there any such requests from other sources. The committee therefore based its action upon the evidence available in the printed House hearings.

The committee reports the bill without change in the amounts allowed by the House.

The committee recommends deletion of the following language contained in section 301, general provisions:

, or who is a member of any labor organization the officers of which have not complied with the requirements of subsection (h) of section 9 of the National Labor Relations Act as amended by the Labor-Management Relations Act, 1947

[blocks in formation]

or that such person is not a member of any labor organization the officers of which have not complied with the requirements of subsection (h) of section 9 of the National Labor Relations Act as amended by the Labor-Management Relations Act, 1947
