BOARD OF ESTIMATE AND APPORTIONMENT-CITY OF NEW YORK,
MAYOR'S OFFICE, CITY HALL,

MONDAY, October 3, 1898, 11 o'clock A. M.

The Board met in pursuance of a resolution adopted September 22, 1898.

Present-Robert A. Van Wyck, the Mayor; Bird S. Coler, the Comptroller; John Whalen, the Corporation Counse!; Thomas L. Feitner, the President of the Department of Taxes and Assessments.

Absent-Randolph Guggenheimer, the President of the Council.

The reading of the minutes of the meetings held January 27, 28, 31, February 1, 2, 4, 8, 11, 15, 18, 28, March 17, April 5, 12, 20, 22, 28, May 9, June 7, 14, July 1, 7, 11, 27, August 8, 22, September 22, 1898, was dispensed with.

The Comptroller presented the following:

Board of Estimate, City of New York:

GENTLEMEN-By order of the Supreme Court, Kings County, under section 19, Code of Civil Procedure, we have printed and furnished, as below, their court calendars, at bid prices. We have rendered duly certified bills monthly, and have used our every effort to obtain the money in payment of same, but have failed. We now ask you, gentlemen, to adopt such measures as will lead to the payment of our claim. The amount, no doubt appears, small to your Body, but to us it represents so much capital tied up since January, 1898, of which we have been deprived of its earning powers. We are prepared, if you wish, to have our representative appear before your Board.
