could be furnished for twenty-four hours in one of the large Halls of the city, together with refreshments of tea and coffee, gas-lights, attendance, &c.

(C) To prepare a billet of admission in the form of the present billets, but purchaseable, and only by members. Members then to be inquired of as to how many of such billets, at a fixed price, they may be desirous of subscribing for, for themselves and friends; and on near ascertainment of the total number, the particular Hall most suitable for size would be selected for holding the Conversazione.

(D) The price to be charged for the billet of admission has occupied much attention with the Committee. They are fully of opinion that no expense should intentionally come on the Society's funds, and believe that the scheme can be carried out without trenching thereupon. On a moderate computation of expenses, and equally modest expectation of public favour to be shown to the meeting, they believe that a charge of 1s. 6d. on each billet might just prevent a loss; but as there are many reasons for avoiding too narrow a risk, and as many are in favour of opening such a novelty in our scientific meetings in a suitable style, and leaving a positive, rather than a negative, pecuniary result, the Committee would recommend the scheme of 2s. 6d. billets.

5th. Having arrived thus far, the Committee agreed to report progress to Council, especially as, if any steps are to be taken in accordance with the proposition above detailed, the most effective mode of beginning would appear to be, by calling attention to the subject in the discussion of private business at the next ordinary meeting; the attention of members being duly called thereto by a note in the billet.
