BUDGET REQUEST PRESENTATION

Chairman McCLELLAN. The subcommittee will come to order. This morning we will hear testimony from the Secretary of the Air Force and supporting witnesses with respect to the budget request for the Department of the Air Force.

Our first witness this morning is Dr. Robert C. Seamans, Jr., Secretary of the Air Force.

Mr. Secretary, we welcome you and your associates who are supporting you in your budget request. We shall be very glad to hear you, and we invite you to make the best case you can, because we are going to be confronted with challenge, strong opposition and a number of efforts, no doubt, in different areas to make substantial reductions. Therefore, if you are concerned that you need money at a given point, and you would be very apprehensive if the Congress denied you in that particular area, or for that particular item, we urge you to emphasize your testimony in those areas and with respect to those items.
