TO THE FIRST EDITION OF MR. LINDSEY'S REFORMED LITURGY.
THE Liturgy now offered to the public is the Liturgy of the Church of England, with the amendments of Dr. Clarke, and such further alterations as were judged necessary to render it unexceptionable with respect to the OBJECT of religious worship: and at the same time, other blemishes and improprieties are removed, which have been taken notice of by some of the greatest Names in the English church.
The Editor has not presumed to rely entirely on his own judgement in the further alterations here exhibited; but has profited by the assistance and judicious remarks of his friends. And he proposes it as a Liturgy to be made use of by a society of like-minded Christians; amongst whom he should be happy
