World War I widows paid pension of $65
per month, plus $10 for each child, with
annual income limitations of $2,000 for
those without children and $2,400 for
those with children.

World War I veterans paid a pension of
$100 per month, or $170 per month if in
need of regular aid and attendance, if
10 percent disabled at age 62, subject to
annual income limitation of $2,400 to "un-
married" veterans or $3,600 if married or
with children.

veterans of World War I to members of

the Students' Army Training Corps at
Northwest State Normal School, Alva,

Explanation (Figures in parentheses are existing rates)

Pension provided for parents of veterans of World War I, World War II, or the Korean conflict at same rate and income limitations as apply to widows, when parent was dependent upon veteran at the time of his death. Excludes proceeds from sale of a home from income for pension purposes when any part of proceeds used for purchase of second home when advisable medically or otherwise that second home be acquired. Provides benefits available to veterans of World War I, their wives and children, to persons who served on Mexican Border between May 9, 1916, and April 6, 1917, and to their wives and children. Pension for veterans of Spanish-American War with 90 days' service and Indian wars with 90 days' service increased from $101.59 to $125 or, for those in need of regular aid and attendance, from $135.45 to $170. Pension for veterans of SpanishAmerican War with more than 70 but less than 90 days' service, increased from $67.73 to $84 or, for those in need of regular aid and attendance, from $88.04 to $113.

Permits payment of pension in lieu of dependency and indemnity compensation in the case of some surviving dependents of veterans who died of a service-connected cause after December 31, 1956.

Restores elegibility of remarried widows to pension compensation, dependency, and indemnity compensation, or loan guarantee, when remarriage or remarriages dissolved by death or divorce without fault of the widow. Excludes income from public or private retirement, annuity, endowment, or similar plans in computing income for pension purposes.

Excludes $10,000 income from private insurance policies in computing income for pension purposes.
