RESOURCES FOR ECONOMIC ADJUSTMENT
Technical and Financial Assistance
The major Federal resources for Economic Adjustment Committee efforts to assist Defense-impacted communities are: (1) the knowledge, experience and leadership capabilities of the EAC teams assigned to each community; (2) the resource programs of member agencies; and (3) the excess DoD real and personal property.
Federal Regional Councils are located in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Kansas City, Denver, San Francisco and Seattle. These Councils, by means of their Federal program coordinating responsibility, have materially strengthened the EAC efforts to assist Defense-impacted communities. The Councils are in a position to provide, under EAC leadership, vital information about current and planned Federal activities in specific communities and to coordinate delivery of Federal programs to impacted areas. Moreover, the Councils are strategically located to provide on-going technical assistance to the EAC over the longer term period. (See Appendix 8.)
