12 What man is he that defireth life, and loveth many days, that he may fee good? 13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile,

14 Depart from evil, and do good feek peace, and purfue it.

15 The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their

18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart and faveth fuch as be of a contrite spirit.

19 Many are the afflic tions of the righteous but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.

20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

21 Evil fhall flay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous fhall be defo

late.

22 The Lord redeemeth the foul of his fervants: and none of them that truft in him fhall be defolate,

PSAL. XXXVI. HE tranfgreffion of the wicked faith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.

2 For he flattereth himfelf in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful,

3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wife, and to do good.

He devifeth mischief up4 on his bed: he fetteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.

5 Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy

faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

6 Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; do good, fo fhalt thou dwell thy judgments are a great in the land, and verily thou deep: O Lord, thou pre-fhalt be fed.

PSAL. XXXVII.

RET not thyself be

upon the Lord, they fhall inherit the earth.

10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou fhalt diligently confider his place, and it shall not be.

11 But the meek fhall incaufe of evil doers, nei-herit the earth; and shall dether be thou envious againftlight themfelves in the abun

16 A little that a righteous man hath, is better than the riches of many wicked.

17 For the arms of the wicked fhall be broken: but the Lord upholdeth the righ

teous.

18 The Lord knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance fhall be for

ever.

19 They fhall not be afhamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they fhall be fatisfied.

20 But the wicked fhall perish, and the enemies of the Lord fhall be as the fat of lambs, they fhall confume into smoke fhall they confume away.

23 The fteps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.

26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his feed is bleffed.

27 Depart from evil, and do good: and dwell for evermore.

28 For the Lord loveth judgment, and forfaketh not his faints, they are preserved for ever: but the feed of the wicked shall be cut off.

29 The righteous fhall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever

30 The mouth of the righteous fpeaketh wifd m; and his tongue talketh of judgment,

37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

38 But the tranfgreffors fhall be destroyed together, the end of the wicked fhall be cut off.

39 But the falvation of the righteous is of the Lord, be is their ftrength in the time of trouble.

40 And the Lord fhall help them, and deliver them: he fhall deliver them from the wicked, and fave them, because they truft in him.

PSAL. XXXVIII.

LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chaften me in thy hot difpleasure.

2 For thine arrows ftick

7 For my loins are filled with a loathfome difeafe: and there is no foundness in my flefh.

8 I am feeble and fore broken: I have roared by reafon of the difquietness of my heart.

9 Lord, all my defire is before thee and my groaning is not hid from thee.

10 My heart panteth, my ftrength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it alfo is gone from me.

11 My lovers and my friends ftand aloof from my fore and my kinfmen ftand afar off.

12 They also that feek after my life, lay fnares for me and they that feek my hurt, fpeak fpeak mifchievous

2 I was dumb with filence, I held my peace, even from good, and my forrow was stirred.

16 For I faid, Hear me, 4 Lord, make me to know left otherwife they should re-mine end, and the measure joice over me when my of my days, what it is: that foot flippeth, they magnify I themselves against me.

17 For I am ready to halt, and my forrow is continually before me.
