REPORT OF TRANSFER OF AUTOMOTIVE EQUIPMENT

MAY 5, 1924. Upon transferring automotive equipment to another, or within the same district, officials responsible will immediately advise the supply division, central office, as to the station to and from which such equipment was transferred, together with the service and motor number and make of car.

REPORTING SURPLUS TRAINEE'S EQUIPMENT

JULY 8, 1924.

In reporting surplus property to central office in accordance with the provisions of paragraphs 117 to 120, inclusive, Property Regulations, United States Veterans' Bureau, 1924, the approval of the district manager shall be entered on all reports, and when such lists cover any property used in vocational training, the list shall also bear the approval of the chief of the rehabilitation division of the district office.

District managers and subordinate officials in his office should exercise great care in declaring property surplus, in order that no supplies and equipment shall be transferred from a district which are needed or will be required in the near future for use in the district.

(Special District Manager Letter, Supply Division, No. 1. Obsolete) DISCONTINUANCE OF NOTIFICATION TO FIELD STATIONS OF COMPLETION OF REQUISITIONS

APRIL 30, 1923.

1. Under authority granted by the director April 17, 1923, central office will discontinue sending to field stations post-card notices of the completion of requisitions. 2. District offices will be advised promptly as to approval or disapproval of requisitions, and copies of shipping orders, proposals, and purchase orders issued covering the items will be furnished at the time such orders are drawn. SURPLUS PAPER SECURED FROM ARMY SURPLUS

MAY 18, 1923.

The Veterans' Bureau has secured from the Army surplus the following items of paper: 2,012 reams foolscap, 12-pound; 2,763 reams legal cap, 12-pound; 950 reams typewriter paper, perforated, 9 by 934.

Samples of this paper are attached hereto. If use of it can be made in any of the organizations under your jurisdiction, you are requested to place requisitions in accordance with General Order No. 123 for a quantity sufficient for three to six months' supply. SURPLUS GRINDING WHEELS

JULY 27, 1923.

There are surplus in the fifth district machine shop grinding wheels of various sizes and grades of coarseness as indicated on the attached list.

All of these wheels are in serviceable condition, and in the event that any of them could be used to advantage at vocational schools in your district, it is requested that letters be addressed to the manager, District No. 5, referring to Special District Manager Letter, Supply Division, No. 3, requesting the transfer of the quantity which can be used at your station and furnishing definite shipping instructions.

Manager, District No. 5, is authorized to act upon such requests as are received in accordance with the second paragraph of this letter and should accomplish proper invoices in accordance with Property Regulations. forwarding the usual number of copies to central office, attention purchase and issue subdivision, Supply Division, J. E. SASSER, Acting Assistant Director.
