IN GRAND LODGE.

A Special Communication of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of West Virginia, was begun and held in the Masonic Hall, in Ravenswood, on the 27th day of December, 1878, at 1 P. M., for the purpose of dedicating the "new Lodge room" of Ashton Lodge No. 12.

There were also present, most of the officers and members of Ashton Lodge No. 12, several of the officers and members of Ripley Lodge No. 16, and quite a number of visiting brethren.

The Grand Lodge of West Virginia was opened in DUE FORM, by the acting Grand Master; proceeded to the new hall and dedicated the same in accordance with the usages and customs of the Masonic Fraternity, in the presence of a large number of ladies and gentlemen, the ceremonies being public.

The Grand Lodge was then called from labor until 6 P. M., at which time it resumed its labor; installed the officers elect of Ashton Lodge No. 12, and after listening to an able and interesting addresses by R. W. C. H. Hoyt, was called from labor to refreshment, and partook of a bountiful repast.

Having spent some time in social conversation with the many persons present, the installation having been public, the Lodge resumed labor and was soon afterwards closed in DUE FORM and harmony.

IN GRAND LODGE.

A Special Communication of M. W. Grand Lodge of West Virginia was held in the hall of Berkeley Lodge No. 37, in the town of Hedgesville, on the 3d day of May, 1879, A. L. 5879, for the purpose of laying the corner-stone of a new building to be erected for Masonic purposes in that village.
