the former things, what they be, or declare us things for to come: Let them fhew the things that are to come hereafter; that we may know that they are Gods; yea, there is none that fheweth; yea, there is none that declareth; yea, there is none that heareth their Words.

a Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God, and fay thus in his Heart? How doth God know? Is there Knowledge in the Moft High? Can he Judge through the dark Cloud? The Lord fhall not fee, neither fhall God regard us: Or, Why doth he fay, God hath forgotten, he hideth his Face, he will never fee it? For furely, the Lord beholdeth Mischief and Spite to requite it; and whoever committeth Villany, or Adultery, or fpeaketh lying Words in my Name, even I know, and am a Witness, faith the Lord.

b The Lord knoweth the manifold Tranfgreffions of the wicked, and their mighty Sins: He - will never forget any of their Works; For his Eyes are upon the Ways of Man, and, there is no Darkness, or fhadow of Death, where the Workers of Iniquity may hide themselves.4

Shall the Thing framed fay, of him that framed it, he hath no Underftanding? He that planted the Ear, fhall he not hear? He that formed the Eye, fhall he not fee? He that teacheth Man Knowledge, fhall not he know ?

d God hath not Eyes of Flesh. The Lord feeth not as Man feeth: For Man looketh on the out

ward appearance, but, the Lord looketh on the Heart.

a Neither is his Ear heavy, that it cannot hear.

b Shall any teach God Knowledge?

His WISDOM.

God is wife in Heart: His Thoughts are very deep. He is mighty in Wisdom: He is wonderful in Counsel, and excellent in Working.

d The Lord poffeffed Wisdom in the beginning of his Way, before his Works of Old; while as yet he had not made the Earth, nor the Fields, nor the highest part of the Duft of the World.

e The Lord, by Wisdom, hath founded the Earth; by Understanding hath he established the Heavens; by his Knowledge, the Depths are broken up, and the Clouds drop down the Dew: He hath established the World by his Wifdom, and hath stretcht out the Heavens by his Difcretion.. O Lord, how manifold are thy Works! in Wisdom haft thou made them all.

f And God faw every thing that he had made, and behold, it was very good. He hath made every thing beautiful, in his time.

8 He is the only Wife God...

h Who hath known the Mind of the Lord? Or, who hath been his Counsellor? Who hath directed the Spirit of the Lord? Or, being his

Counsellor, hath taught him? With whom took he Counfel? Who inftructed him, and taught him Knowledge, and fhewed to him the way of Understanding?

a Where fhall Wifdom be found, and where is the place of Understanding? The Depth faith, it is not in me; and the Sea faith, it is not with me: It cannot be gotten for Gold, neither fhall Silver be weighed for the Price thereof: Whence then cometh Wifdom, feeing it is hid from the Eyes of all Living? God underflandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.

b Behold, he putteth no trust in his Servants; and his Angels he chargeth with Folly.

The Lord knoweth the Thoughts of the Wife, that they are vain; for the Wisdom of this World, is Foolishness with God.

d There are many Devices in a Man's Heart; nevertheless the Counsel of the Lord, that fhall ftand. For there is no Wisdom, nor Underftanding, nor Counfel againft the Lord; who taketh the Wife in their own-Craftiness, turneth them backward, and makethi their Knowledge foolish.

eHe respecteth not any that are Wife of Heart; because the Foolishness of God is wifer than Men and he choofeth the foolish things of this World, to confound the Wife, that no Flefh fhould glory in his Prefence.

Who hath put Wisdom in the inward Parts? Or, who hath given Understanding to the Heart?

God

God giveth Wifdom to the Wife, and Knowledge to them that know Understanding.

His POWER.

a Power belongeth unto God. He is Almighty, and can do every thing.

b The Lord God Omnipotent réigneth; and in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting Strength.

c When his Word goeth forth out of his Mouth, it fhall not return unto him void, but it fhall ac2 complish that which he pleafeth; and it fhall profper in the thing whereto he fendeth it. As he hath thought, fo fhall it come to pafs; and as he hath purpofed, fo fhall it ftand; and what his Soul defireth, even that he doth.

d He worketh Signs and Wonders in Heaven; and in Earth; and he calleth thofe things that be not as though they were. How great are his Signs, and how mighty are his Wonders?

e God hath Power to help, and to caft down; to fave, and to deftroy; and he is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we afk, or think: For He is strong that executeth his Word, and he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

There is nothing too hard for the Lord. There is no restraint to the Lord, to fave by many, or by few, or with them that have no Power. For he faveth not with Sword and

Spear; and his Strength is made perfect in Weakness.

a Haft thou not known? Haft thou not heard, that the Everlafting God, the Creator of the Ends of the Earth, fainteth not, neither is weary?

b He neither flumbereth nor fleepeth; neither is his Hand waxed fhort that it cannot fave.

c Thus faith the Lord, thy Redeemer, and he that formed thee from the Womb; I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the Heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the Earth by my felf: I, even 1, am he, and there is no God with mc.

d He alone doth great Wonders. He only doth wondrous things.

e The Lord is Mighty in Strength, Excellent in Power, who is like unto him?

f What God is there in Heaven, or in Earth, that can do according to his Works, and according to his Might?

8 Are there any among the Vanities of the Gentiles that can caufe Rain? Or can the Heaven give Showers? Art not thou he, O Lord our God, who haft made all these things?

h As for our Redeemer, the Lord of Hofts is his Name. He is the God of Forces, Mighty to fave; and there is no other God that can deliver after this fort.
