a Let your Converfation be in Heaven, from whence, alfo, we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jefus Chrift.

b Be ye Followers of God, as dear Children; and walk in Love, as Chrift alfo hath loved us.

c This is the Love of God, that we keep his Commandments.

d If a Man love Jefus Chrift he will keep his Words. He that loveth him not, keepeth not his Sayings.

e Ye that love the Lord, hate Evil.

Thy Word, O Lord, is very pure, therefore thy Servant loveth it.

I love thy Commandments above Gold. Thy Judgments are more to be defired than fine Gold; they are sweeter alfo than Honey, and the Honey-comb.

h Set not your Affections on things of the Earth.

i Love not the World, neither the things which are in the World. For all that is in the World, the Luft of the Flesh, the Luft of the Eyes, and the Pride of Life, is not of the Father; but is of the World. And the World paffeth away, and the Luft thereof. If any Man love the World, the Love of the Father is not in him. And whofoever will be a Friend of the World, is the Enemy of God: For the Friendinip of the World, is Enmity with God.

a What things are Gain to us, thofe are to be counted Lofs for Chrift. And we are to leave all, and to follow him.

b He that loveth Father or Mother more than me (faith our Saviour) is not worthy of me; and he that loveth Son or Daughter more than ine, is not worthy of me.

Is

c We love God, because he first loved us. not he our Father, and our Redeemer, that hath bought us hath not he made us, and established us?

d There is no Fear in Love; but perfect Love cafteth out Fear; because Fear hath Torment: he that feareth, is not made perfect in Love.

e The Lord direct our Hearts into the Love of God. Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jefus Chrift, in Sincerity.

OBEDIENCE.

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God, and keep his Charge, and his Statutes, and his Judgments, and his Commandments, alway.

g Thou shalt diligently hearken to the Voice of the Lord thy God, and do that which is right in his Sight, and ferve him in Truth with all thy Heart.

h You fhall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God hath commanded you: You fhall not turn afide to the right Hand, or to the left.

a Ye fhall not do every Man whatsoever is right in his own Eyes; but what thing foever the Lord commandeth you, obferve to do it. Thou fhalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

Hereby we do know, that we know Jefus Chrift, if we keep his Commandments. He that faith, I know him, and keepeth not his Commandments, is a Liar, and the Truth is not in him: But whofo keepeth his Word, in him, verily, is the Love of God perfected. Hereby also know we, that we are in him. Who hath faid, ye are my Friends, if ye do whatfoever I command you.

e He that doth the Will of God, abideth for

ever.

d Whofoever committeth Sin, tranfgreffeth alfo the Law, for Sin is the Tranfgreffion of the Law.

e The Soul that doth aught presumptuously, the fame reproacheth the Lord; becaufe he hath defpifed the Word of the Lord, his Iniquity fhall be upon him.

f Not every one that faith unto Chrift, Lord, Lord, fall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he that doth the Will of his Father which is in Heaven.

8 Circumcifion is nothing; and Uncircumcifion is nothing, but the keeping of the Commandments of God. ⠀⠀

a Thus faith the Lord of Hofts, the God of Ifraei; Ifpake not unto your Fathers in the Day that I brought them out of the Land of Egypt, concerning Burnt Offerings, or Sacrifices; but this thing commanded I them, faying, obey my Voice, and walk ye in all the Ways that I have comma. ded you, that it may be well unto you.

b Behold, to obey, is better than Sacrifice, and to hearken, than the fat of Rams.

c Be ye Doers of the Word, and not Hearers only, deceiving your own felves: For, if any be a Hearer of the Word, and not a Doer, he is like unto a Man, beholding his natural Face in a Glafs; for he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and ftraitway forgetteth what manner of Man he was: But, whofo looketh into the perfect Law of Liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful Hearer, but a Doer of the Work; this Man fhall be bleffed in his Deed. For, not the Hearers of the Law are just before God, but the Doers of the Law fhall be juftified.

We ought to obey God, rather than Men. For we are the Servants of the God of Heaven and Earth.

e No Man can ferve two Masters, for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else, he will hold to the one, and defpife the other: ye cannot ferve God and Mammon.

SUBMISSION.

a Submit your felves to God: faying upon all Occafions, the Will of the Lord be done. And take heed that ye never charge God foolishly.

b Whatever Troubles shall befal any of you, he ought to say, It is the Lord, let him do what feemeth him good: If it be poflible, let this Cup pals from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.

If I fhall find Favour in the Eyes of the Lord, he will profper me in my ways; but, if he have no Delight in me, behold, here am I, let him do to me as feemeth good unto him.

d My Son, defpife not thou the Chaftening of the Lord, neither be weary of his Correction, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him; For whom the Lord loveth, he correcteth, even as a Father the Son in whom he delighteth.

e Should it be according to thy Mind? he will recompenfe it, whether thou refufe, or whether thou choose.

If ye endure Chaftening, God dealeth with you as with Sons. We have had Fathers of our Flesh, which corrected us, and we gave them Reverence; fhall we not much rather be in Subjection unto the Father of Spirits? For they chaftened us after their own Pleasure, but he for our Profit, that we might be Partakers of his Holinefs. Now no Chaftening, for the prefent, feemeth to be joyous, but grievous: Neverthe
