a Let your Conversation be in Heaven, froin whence, also, we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.

b Be ye Followers of God, as dear Children; and walk in Love, as Christ also hath loved us.

c This is the Love of God, that we keep his Commandments.

d If a Man love Jesus Christ he will keep his Words. He that loveth him not, keepeth not his Sayings.

e Ye that love the Lord, hate Evil.

f Thy Word, O Lord, is very pure, therefore thy Servant loveth it.

§ I love thy Commandments above Gold. Thy Judgments are more to be desired than fine Gold; they are sweeter also than Honey, and the Honey-comb.

h Set not your Affections on things of the Earth.

i Love not the World, neither the things which are in the World. For all that is in the World, the Luft of the Flesh, the Luft of the Eyes, and the Pride of Life, is not of the Father ; but is of the World. And the World pafseth away, and the Luft thereof. If any Man love the World, the Love of the Father is not in him. And whosoever will be a Friend of the World, is the Enemy of God: For the Friendinip of the World, is Enmity with God.

a What things are Gain to us, those are to be counted Loss for Christ. And we are to leave all, and to follow hiin.

ó He that loveth Father or Mother more than me (faith our Saviour) is not worthy of me; and he that loveth Son or Daughter more than ine, is not worthy of me.

c We love God, because he first loved us. Is not he our Father, and our Redeemer, that hath bought us ? hath not he made us, and established us?

d There is no Fear in Love ; but perfect Love cafteth out Fear; because Fear hath Torment: he that feareth, is not made perfect in Love.

e The Lord direct our Hearts into the Love of God. Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ, in Sincerity.

OBEDIENCE.

I Thou thalt love the Lord thy God, and keep his Charge, and his Statutes, and his Judgments, and his Commandments, alway.

& Thou shalt diligently hearken to the Voice of the Lord thy God, and do that which is right in his Sight, and serve him in Truth with all thy. Heart.

h You shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God hath commanded you: You shall not turn aside to the right Hand, or to the left.

is Ye fhall not do every Man whatsoever is right in his own Eyes; èut what thing foever the Lord commandeth you, observe to do it. Thou thalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

b Hereby we do know, that we know Jesus Chriit, if we keep his Commandments. He that faith, I know hini, and keepeth not his Commandments, is a Liar, and the Truth is not in him: But whoso keepeth bis Word, in him, verily, is the Love of God perfected. Hereby also know we, that we are in him. IVho hath faid, ye are my Friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

c He that doth the Will of God, abideth for ever.,

d Whiofoever committeth Sin, transgresseth also the Law, for Sin is the Transgreffion of the Law.

e The Soul that doth_aught presumptuously, the same reproacheth the Lord; because he hath despised the Word of the Lord, his Iniquity shall be upon,

a Thus

a Thus faith the Lord of Hosts, the God of Ifraei; Ispake not unto your Fathers in the Day that I brought them out of the Land of Egypt, concerning Burnt Offerings, or Sacrifices; but this thing commanded I them, saying, obey my Voice, and walk ye in all the Ways that I have comma. :ded you, that it may be well unto you.

• Behold, to obey, is better than Sacrifice, and to hearken, than the fat of Rams.

c Be ye Doers of the Word, and not Hearers only, deceiving your own selves : For, if any be a Hearer of the Word, and not a Doer, he is like unto a Man, beholding his natural Face in a Glafs; for he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straitway forgetteth what manner of Man he was: But, whoso looketh into the perfect Law of Liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful Hearer, but a Doer of the Work; this Man shall be blessed in his Deed. For, not the Hearers of the Law are just before God, but the Doers of the Law shall be justified:

d'We ought to obey God, rather than Men. For we are the Servants of the God of Heaven and Earth.

e No Man can serve two Masters, for either he will hate the one, and love the other ; or else, he will hold to the one, and despise the other : ye cannot serve God and Mammon.

SUBMISSION.

a Submit your selves to God: saying upon all Occasions, the Will of the Lord be done. And take heed that ye never charge God foolishly.

b Whatever Troubles shall befal any of you, he ought 10 Say, It is the Lord, let him do what seemeth him good: If it be poflible, let this Cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.

cIf I shall find Favour in the Eyes of the Lord, he will prosper me in my ways; but, if he have no Delight in me, behold, here am 1, let him do to me as seemeth good unto him.

d My Son, despise not thou the Chastening of the Lord, neither be weary of his Correction, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him; For whom the Lord loveth, he correcteth, even as a Father the Son in whom he delighterh.

e Should it be according to thy Mind ? he will recompense it, whether thou refuse, or whether thou choose.

f If ye endure Chaftening, God dealeth with you as with Sons. We have had Fathers of our Flesh, which corrected us, and we gave them Reverence; shall we not much rather be in Subjection unto the Father of Spirits ? For they chaftened us after their own Pleasure, but he for our Profit, that we might be Partakers of his Holiness. Now no Chastening, for the present, seemeth to be joyous, but grievous : Neverthe
