TURN

PSALM LXXX.

RN us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out nations and planted it. Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.

The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.

It sent out its boughs unto the sea, and its branches unto the river.

Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;

And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.

So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name. Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

Thirty-second Selection.

LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortest me. Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

Praise the Lord, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.

Sing unto the Lord; for he hath done. excellent things: this is known in all the earth.

Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion; for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.

We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.

Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in,

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord is everlasting strength:

The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just.

Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O Lord, have we, waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.

With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world. will learn righteousness.

Lord, thou wilt ordain peace for us: for thou also hast wrought all our works in us.

O Lord our God, other lords besides thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy

name.

O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

O Lord, correct me, but with judgment;

not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.

To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him; neither have we obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants, the prophets.

Thirty-third Selection.

ME near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people; let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it.

For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our law-giver, the Lord is our King; he will save us.

O Lord of hosts, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.

Incline thine ear, O Lord, and hear; open thine eyes, O Lord, and see: and hear all our words.

O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, and thou wilt take away the covering cast over all people, and the veil that is spread over all nations.

Thou wilt swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces, and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.

Thou shalt rejoice in the Lord, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.

When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the Lord will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.

I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.

That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the
