the old cape site, is new. A radar boresight range and a parachute and paraglider building have been provided.

Under construction are an operation and checkout (O. & C.) building (fig. 64), a weights and balance building (fig. 65), fluid test complex (fig. 66), and a static test facility. Planned are additions to the O. & C. building and the fluid test complex, as well as a second test complex in the static test facility for lunar excursion module testing.

Operational

The final element of our facilities involves operational resources at the Kennedy Space Center.

SATURN IIB launch complexes.-Launch complex 34 has been modified to provide it with a liquid hydrogen system. The complex will continue to be developed so that it will have SATURN IB launching capabilities. The capability to launch SATURN I BLOCK II vehicles at launch complex 37B was achieved after a long construction and test program in 1963 (fig. 67). Now operationally ready, it is the launch complex from which the SA-5 shot recently took place. This launch complex will be utilized to support the SATURN IB program.

SATURN V launch complex. SATURN V launches will all take place from launch complex 39 on Merritt Island (fig. 68). The vertical assembly building (VAB) is now being built (fig. 69); the launch umbilical towers (LUT's) are being erected; a propellant system for the first pad is under contract; a second pad is being started; and most of
