Advise on investigations of interregional freight-rate structures and their relation to industries developed under power resources of the region.

existing and developing new outlets for aluminum and
magnesium products made in the Pacific Northwest, particu-
larly those plans and programs involving the use of hydro-
electric power.

Advise on the technology of plastics industry and the application of power to the industry.

To serve in a consulting and advisory capacity on problems in
connection with the utilization of electric power for steam
generators.

To advise in regard to method for protection of high voltage
systems from lightning disturbances; power system static and
transient stability limits; method for improving system oper-
ation characteristics and permitting present system to carry
larger loads; inductive coordination problems; proper charac-
teristics of major electrical equipment, methods of load power
factor correction, and the use of direct current transmission
equipment and transmission lines; consulting service in the
development and economics of extra long-distance trans-
mission, employing new methods of reactance compensation,
higher transmission voltages, intermediate ties to other power
systems, and source of generation,

To serve in a consulting capacity in relation to a series of industrial studies pertaining to ferrochromium, ferrosilicon, ferrotungsten, ferrotitanium, ferromolybdenum, and ferro manganese, which will comprise the Columbia Basin Report. Advises on descriptive technological and economic data required, the type and minimum amount of detailed information required, and estimated costs of various operations. Consult in the preparation of a report on the potential uses of Columbia River power in the Northwest as related to ironore utilization, cast-iron, steel, and stainless steel-production. Consultant on wholesale and resale rate and cost allocation.

Members of Bonneville Regional Advisory Council serve without compensation but are reimbursed for travel expenses and receive per diem in lieu of subsistence. Members of this council advise on problems and programs of regional or technical character in order to bring such activities more closely into harmony with regional and technical conditions and requirements.
