in the State Treasury, not otherwise appropriated, to pay any deficit accruing on account of Soldiers exemption Law for years 1921 and 1922.

Section 2. That the sum of Two Hundred and Twenty-five Thousand Dollars, be, and the same is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the State Treasury, not otherwise appropriated, for the purposes of compensating the various counties of Wyoming by reason of refund Soldiers Exemption for bi-annual period from April 1st, 1923, to March 31st, 1925.

Section 3. This Act shall take effect and be in force from and after its

passage.

CHAPTER 112.

House Bill No. 120.

LEVY FOR WYOMING TUBERCULOSIS SANATORIUM.

AN ACT providing for a special levy for a State Institution within the State known as Wyoming Tuberculosis Sanatorium and the distribution of the fund raised by said levy.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Section 1. The State Board of Equalization, at the time of making the annual tax levy for State purposes for the years of 1924 and 1925 shall direct the various Boards of County Commissioners of the several counties of the State to levy upon all taxable property in their respective counties, a tax of one-eighth (1-8) of one mill on each and every dollar of the assessed valuation of such property, which tax shall be collected and paid to the State Treasurer in the manner provided by law for the levying, collecting and payment of other state taxes. Such taxes when so collected and paid into the State Treasury, shall be kept in a separate fund for the Wyoming Tuberculosis Sanatorium and shall be applied to buildings and equipment for said Institution. All monies that may be realized from taxes so levied are hereby appropriated and made available for the purpose of paying for the construction of buildings and the purchase of equipment for said buildings, and such monies shall be expended under the authority and direction of the State Board of Charities and Reform.

Section 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its

passage.

House Bill No. 261.

RELIEF OF CHARLES GRANGER.

AN ACT making an appropriation for the relief of Charles Granger for certain expenses incurred defending a suit against him as Water Commissioner of the State of Wyoming.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Section 1. That the sum of Eight Hundred Ninety-four ($894.00) Dollars or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated from

any funds in the state treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the relief of Charles Granger on account of expenses, court costs, and attorneys fees paid by him on account of the defense of a certain suit in Fremont County, brought against him for the doing of certain acts in the course of his duties as water commissioner of the State of Wyoming, which was finally tried during the May A. D. 1921 term of the District Court of Fremont County.

Section 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its

passage.

House Bill No. 150.

REIMBURSEMENT OF PURCHASERS OF SECTION 36, T. 56 N., R. 99 W. AN ACT to reimburse the purchasers of Section 36, Township 56, Range 99 W. 6 P. M. for expenses incurred in protecting their water rights therein, and to provide for the conducting of litigation to protect such rights.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Section 1. There is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the State Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of Five Thousand Nine Hundred Ten ($5,910.00) Dollars for the purpose of reimbursing Charles Grant Caldwell individually and as trustee for Christopher Althoff, Arthur R. Thornburg, Earl Kysar, D. E. Townsley, and Agnes H. Caldwell, purchasers from the State of Section 36, in Township 56 N. Range 99 W. of the 6th P. M., for costs, expenses and attorneys' fees paid and incurred by him in the matter of the case of United States of America against Arthur W. Ide et al, in the District Court of the United States for the District of Wyoming, in the United States Circuit Court of Appeals, and in the Supreme Court of the United States, Wherein was involved the question of the validity of the appropriations by said parties, from the waters of Bitter Creek, under permits from the State of Wyoming for the irrigation of said section. The state auditor is hereby authorized and directed to draw his warrant on the state treasurer in favor of Charles Grant Caldwell, Trustee in the amount of $5,910.00 in payment thereof. (Approved for $5,410.00).

Section 2. The Attorney General is hereby authorized and directed to conduct to its conclusion on behalf of said parties, the litigation of said suit, now pending in the Supreme Court of the United States, and is authorized to employ a special assistant or assistants to conduct such litigation, and there is hereby appropriated out of any funds of the state not otherwise appropriated, the sum of three thousand dollars for the purpose of paying the fees and expenses of such assistants.

Section 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its

passage.

AN ACT appropriating money for the two years ending March 31, 1925, for salaries and expenses for the executive and judicial departments of the State; for salaries and expenses of all State officers, commissions, boards and departments; for support and maintenance of the educational, charitable and penal institutions of the State; and for uniforms for school cadets; and to provide for all items hereinafter expressed.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Section 1. There is hereby appropriated for the two years ending March 31, 1925, the following sums of money, or so much thereof as may be necessary, out of any money in the State Treasury not otherwise appropriated for the payment of salaries and expenses of the executive and judicial departments of the State, the salaries and expenses of all State officers, commissions, boards, and departments, the support and maintenance of the educational, charitable, and penal instutions of the State, and for uniforms for school cadets.
