cense thereon, because it is a jealousy-offering, for a memorial to bring iniquity to remembrance. 16. The priest shall bring this to the court of the ta bernacle before the Eternal; 17. And take conse crated water in an earthen vessel, and put some of the dust on the floor therein, 18. And place her be fore the tabernacle, in the Eternal's presence, and uncover her head, and put the jealousy-offering into her hand; and he shall have in his hand the bitter water of the curse; 19. And he shall charge her solemnly, saying, If thou art innocent, be thou free from this bitter water of the curse; 20. But if thou be guilty, thou art accursed. 21. Then he shall charge her with a solemn imprecation, saying, The Eternal make thee an execration, and a term of imprecation, and thy bowels to swell, and thy limbs. to mortify, 22. By this bitter water of the curse. And she shall say, So be it, Amen.

23. And he shall write these curses in a book, and blot them out with the bitter execration water. 24. And he shall cause her to drink it, it shall be bitter in her bowels.

25. Then he shall take the jealousy-offering out of her hand, and wave it before the Eternal, and offer it on the altar. 26. And having taken an handful of it for a memorial, and burnt it on the altar, and afterwards caused her to drink the water; 27. Which she having done, if she be guilty it shall be bitter in her bowels, and cause them to swell, and her limbs to mortify, and she shall be a curse among her people. 28. But if she be innocent, she shall be free from those evils, and be fruitful.

CHAP. VI,

THE LAW OF THE NAZARITES.

THE Eternal also said to Moses, 2. Say to the Israelites, When either a man or a woman is devoted or set apart to the Eternal, by taking the vow of a Nazarite (as a hermit monk), 3. They shall ab stain from wine and strong drink, and vinegar of any kind, and all liquor expressed from grapes, and not eat grapes moist or dried. 4. During the Na zariteship they shall eat no production of the vine, even from the stones to the rind.

5. He shall not shave, but let the hair of his head grow; being separated to the Eternal he shall be holy.

6. He shall come at no dead body; 7. Nor make himself unclean for his father or his mother, or his brother or his sister, when they die, 8. Because the consecration of his God is on his head. 9. And if any die suddenly beside him, whereby he hath profaned his consecrated hair, he shall shave it the se venth day, the day of his purification. 10. And on the eighth day he shall bring two turtle doves, or two pigeons, to the tabernacle door; 11. And the priest shall offer the one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering, and make atonement for his pollution by the dead; and the same day consecrate his head, 12. And bring a lamb a year old for a trespass-offering, and begin his Nazariteship again; the past time shall be lost, because his consecration was polluted.

13. And when his time of separation is finished, he shall come to the tabernacle door, 14. And of fer his offering to the Eternal, a male and female lamb of a year old, for a burnt-offering and a sin offering, and one ram for a peace-offering, all without blemish. 15. And a basket of unleavened bread, namely, cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, and

wafers of unleavened bread anointed with oil, and their meat-offerings and drink-offerings. 16. And the priest shall bring them before the tabernacle door, 17. And offer them.

18. Then the Nazarite shall shave his consécrated head at the tabernacle door, and put the hair in the fire, below the peace-offering. 19. And the priest shall take the boiled shoulder of the ram, with a cake, and a wafer of unleavened bread, and lay them on the Nazarite's hands, after the hair of his Nazariteship is shaven; 20. And he shall wave them for a wave-offering before the Eternal: this is the priest's portion, being sacred, with the wave-breast and heave-shoulder and after that, the Nazarite may drink wine.

21. This is the law for taking the vow of a Na zarite, and of the offering to the Eternal, for the separation, besides what more they may bind them selves to offer.

22. The Eternal said again to Moses, 23. Say to Aaron and his sons, In this form ye shall bless the Israelites, saying to them, 24. The Eternal bless thee, and preserve thee: 25. The Eternal make the light of his countenance shine upon thee, and be gracious to thee: 26. The Eternal show thee mer cy, and give thee peace. 27. The Israelites shall be called by my name, being my people, and I will bless them, 2 Cor. xiii. 14.

84. This was the whole donation of the chiefs of Israel's tribes when the tabernacle was anointed: twelve silver platters, twelve silver bòwls, twelve golden incense pans: 85. Each silver platter weigh ing one hundred and thirty shekels; each sprinkling vial seventy. All the silver vessels weighed two thousand and four hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary. 86. There were twelve golden pans full of incense, each weighing ten sacred shekels: all the gold of the incense pans was one hundred and twenty shekels. 87. There were twelve bullocks, twelve rams, twelve lambs, of a year old, for a burnt-offering, with their meat-offerings, and twelve kids for a sin-offering. 88.
