ter. And God wrote on the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commands.

29. But when Moses returned from Mount Sinai, with the two tables of the law and testimony in his hand, the skin of his face shined with bright beams, from speaking with the Eternal, though he' knew it not.

30. But when Aaron and all the Israelites saw him, they were afraid to come near him; 31. But he called them. Then Aaron and all the chiefs of the people returned to him, and he talked with them. 32. And after them, all the Israelites came nigh; and he delivered to them in command all that the Eternal had spoken to him on Mount Sinai. 33. But whilst he spoke with them he covered his face with a vail. 34. But when he went in to speak with the Eternal, he took off the vail, till he came out and spake to them what he was commanded. 35. Then he kept the vail on his face, till he went in again to speak before the Eternal.

TO THE END.

THEN Moses assembled all the Israelites, and said to them, The Eternal hath commanded you to do as follows.

2. The seventh day is a sacred rest to the Eternal. Whoever doth any work therein shall be put to death. 3. Ye shall kindle no fire for servile work in all your habitations on it.

4. Moses now said to all the Israelites, The Eternal hath commanded, 5. Saying, Take ye an offering to the Eternal from every one among you who is heartily willing to give it; 6. Evengld, osilver, brass, blue, purple, scarlet, fine linen, and goat's Y

hair, 7. Ram's skins dyed red, badger's skins, and Shittim wood, 8. Oil for the light, spices for anointing oil for the sweet incense; 9. Onyx stones and · others to be set in the ephod and in the breast-plate.

10. And every wise-hearted man among you shall come and make all that the Eternal hath commanded. 11. The tabernacle, its tent over it, its cover ing, its clasps, its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its sockets; 12. The ark, and the staves to carry it, the propitiatory mercy-seat for covering it, and the vail to screen it; 13. The table, with the staves for carrying it, and all its utensils, with the sacred bread to be put upon it; 14. And the candlestick shewing light, with all its furniture, its lamps, and oil for giving light; 15. And the incense altar, with the staves for carrying it, the anointing oil, the sweet incense, and the hanging for the door giving entrance into the tabernacle; 16. The altar for burntoffering, with its brazen grate, the staves for carrying it, and all its utensils; the washing-vessel, with its basis; 17. The hangings for the court about the tabernacle, and the entry into the court, their pillars, with their sockets; 18. And the pins of the tabernacle, and for the pillars of the court, with their cords; 19. The clothes for the holy service in the sacred place, even the sacred garments for Aaron the high-priest, and those for his sons to minister in the priest's office.

20. Then the whole congregation of the Israel, ites departed from the presence of Moses.

21. And every one whose heart stirred him up, and whose spirit made him willing, returned, bringing an offering to the Eternal, for the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and all its service, and the sacred garments. 22. Both men and women came, as many as were of a willing heart, and brought bracelets, ear rings, rings, and tablets, all jewels of gold: for every one that offered brought an offering of gold to the Eternal. 23. And every

man who had blue, purple, scarlet, fine linen, goat's hair, ram's skins dyed red, and badger's skins, brought them. 24. Every one who had silver and brass, brought an offering of them to the Eternal; and every man who had Shittim-wood, serviceable for any part of the work, brought it. 25. And all the wise hearted women span, and brought what they had spun, of blue, purple, scarlet, and fine linen. 26, And all whose hearts were stirred up, and endued with wisdom, span goats' hair: 27. And the rulers brought onyx stones, and others, to be set in the ephod, and in the breast-plate; 28. And spiceries, and oil for light, and for making anointing oil, and sweet incense. 29. Thus every man and woman, of the Israelites, whose heart made them willing to bring an offering for all kinds of work, which the Eternal commanded by Moses to be made, brought a willing-offering to the Eternal.

30. Then Moses said to the Israelites, Lo the Eternal hath called by name Bezaleel, Uri's son, Hur's son, of Judah's tribe; 31. And filled him with wisdom from the Spirit of God, and understanding and knowledge for all kinds of work, 32. And to devise curious work, to be done in gold, in silver, and in brass, 33. And in the cutting of stones, to be set, and carving of wood, to make any kind of skilful work. 34. And he hath given him and Aholiab, Ahisamah's son, of Dan's tribe, a capacity to teach; 35. Even a heart full of wisdom, to work all kinds of engraver's, and skilful work, and of the embroiderer in blue, in purple, in scarlet, in fine linen, of the weaver, and to do any work, or devise. any skilful work.

wisdom, and understanding, to know how to work all kinds of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the Eternal had commanded. 2. Moses called them all in whose heart the Eternal had put wisdom, and whose heart stirred them up, to come and do the work. 3. And they received of Moses all the offerings which the Israelites had brought, to make the work for the service of the sanctuary. And they still continued to bring to him free will offerings every morning, 4. Till all the wise men, who did all the work, left their work, 5. And came to tell Moses, that the people were bringing much more than enough of free-will offerings for the tabernacle. 6. So a proclamation was made by Moses' command, through all the camp, that they should neither make, nor bring any more; 7. For there was too much brought already to make all the work.

8. Then every wise-hearted man that wrought the work, made ten curtains of fine twisted linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, with cherubs skilfully wrought on them.

9. The curtains were all of one size, being twenty-eight cubits long, and four broad. 10. And each five curtains were coupled to one another. 11. And loops were made of blue on the borders of each curtain, on the edge of the coupling, 12. Fifty in each; these held the curtains together. 13. And fifty clasps of gold, wherewith the curtains were coupled to each other; whereby they became as one piece to cover the tabernacle.

14. And he made eleven curtains of goats' hair, for the tent over the tabernacle, 15. All of one size, each thirty cubits long, and four broad. 16. Five were coupled by themselves, and six by themselves. 17. And he made fifty loops on the border of the uttermost curtains, of each of the two coupled pieces, to couple them together. 18. And he made fifty clasps of brass, to couple the tent together. 19..

And he made a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red, and one of badgers' skins above that.

20. And he made boards for the tabernacle of Shittim wood, standing up, 21. Each ten cubits long, and a cubit and a half broad. 22. Each in the tabernacle had two tenons, (or holders) made for it, equally distant from one another. 23. He made twenty boards for the south side, 24. And forty sockets of silver under them, two under each board, for its two tenons, 25. And twenty for the north side, 26. With their forty sockets. of silver, two under each, 27. And six boards for the western sides, 28. And two for the corners, at the two sides. 29. They were doubled beneath, and coupled together at the head, to one ring. 30. There were eight boards, and two sockets of silver under each. 31. And he made bars of Shittim-wood, five for the boards of each side of the tabernacle, 32. And five for the western parts. 33. He made the middle bar to pass through the boards from the one end to the other. 34. And he overlaid the boards and the bars with gold, and made their rings of gold, to be places for the bars. 35. And he made a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twisted linen, with cherubs, curiously wrought in it. 36. And he made for it four pillars of Shittimwood overlaid with gold, with hooks of gold, and four sockets of silver.

37. And he made a hanging for the tabernacle door, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twist ed linen, embroidered work. 38. And five pillars for it, with their hooks, and overlaid their tops and their fillets with gold, and their five sockets were of brass.
