HOSPITALS FOR THE INSANE.

State Lunatic Asylum.

JOHN PRESTON, M. D., SUPERINTENDENT.

This Institution, is located at Austin, Travis County, the capital of the State. The hospitals occupy a natural elevation overlooking the beautiful Colorado river and the city from the north. The location is one of the most healthful and picturesque in Texas, and it seems that the great works of Nature especially prepared this wonderful place for such an institution as this.
