Honorable Abraham A. Ribicoff
Dear Mr. Chairman:
On August 18, 1977 when I submitted to you and the Committee the report of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency concerning its Inquiry Into Certain Matters relating to T. Bertram Lance and various Financial Institutions, I stated in the transmittal letter accompanying the report that certain areas of the inquiry remained to be concluded. Accordingly, I enclose a supplemental report containing sections on (a) certain transactions at Fulton National Bank, (b) certain transactions in the demand deposit accounts of Mr. Lance, and (c) minor corrections and addenda to the August 18, 1977 report.
We are still considering whether further inquiry by the OCC is necessary with regard to a number of transactions which have come to our attention. Appropriate action will be taken by the OCC on any further information developed.
I trust that the Committee will find the report helpful in pursuing its responsibilities. If we can be of further assistance, I know you will call on us.
