Requested position changes:

(Effective October 1, 1976, the maximum salary rate
for NEW mail carrier positions was decreased pursuant
to the 1977 Legislative Appropriations Act. Of the 70
mail carrier positions, approximately two-thirds are
assigned to the two day-shift operations, and one-third
to the early shift operation. During FY 1979 seven
positions will be changed from the old NTE rate of
$13,230 to the new lower rate of $9,639 for a total
reduction of $25,137 and six positions will be changed
to the new rate (early shift) of $10,773 for a total
reduction of $14,742. The total NTE salary reduction
for the thirteen positions at the lower rate is
$39,879
