SCARCE. At the close of the Revolutionary War, the popular feeling against the Tories was so strong that it was next to impossible for them to obtain justice. At this time Hamilton rendered them great service in the Letters of Phocion.

New York: Printed and sold by G. & R. Waite, 1804 EXCEEDINGLY SCARCE. The last speech of Hamilton's and the last of his works to be published prior to his death. Regarded as one of the finest of Hamilton's speeches. Made in defence of Harry Croswell who was indicted for libel against Thomas Jefferson. Opposed to Hamilton in the above trial was Wm. P. Van Ness, who a short time after, carried Burr's challenge to Hamilton and was Burr's second in the celebrated duel in which Hamilton was killed.
