IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FEBRUARY 5, 1969 Mr. QUILLEN introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Veterans' Affairs A BILL To prohibit the Administrator of Veterans' Affairs from requiring an annual income statement from certain pensioners who are seventy-two years of age or older. 1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 3 That the Administrator of Veterans' Affairs may not in the 4 administration of the provisions of title 38, United States 5 Code, or of any other veterans' benefit law with respect to 6 pension or disability or indemnity compensation, require a 7 8 report, statement, or any other form of declaration with respect to annual income from a person who has attained the 9 age of seventy-two years, if such person continuously received 10 pension or disability or indemnity compensation under such 2 1 title or law during the two-year period before the date on 2 which such age was attained. Nothing in this Act shall 3 prohibit such person from filing a declaration with respect 4 to income with the Administrator in the event such person 5 suffers a reduction in income which would entitle him to 6 increased pension or disability or indemnity compensation. 34-108 O-69-7 91ST CONGRESS 1ST SESSION H. R. 6802 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FEBRUARY 17, 1969 Mr. TEAGUE of Texas (by request) introduced the following bill; referred to the Committee on Veterans' Affairs which was A BILL To amend title 38 of the United States Code to increase the pension rates payable to certain seriously disabled veterans and widows. 1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 3 That (a) subsection (d) of section 521 of title 38, United 4 States Code, is amended by striking out "$100" and insert5 ing in lieu thereof "$150". 6 (b) Subsection (e) of said section 521 is amended by 7 striking out "$40" and inserting in lieu thereof "$50". 8 SEC. 2. (a) Section 544 of title 38, United States Code, 9 is amended by striking out "$50" and inserting in lieu 10 thereof "$75". 4 1 2 (b) Subsection (c) of section 108 of Public Law 90– 2 77 is amended by striking out "$50" and inserting in lieu 3 thereof "$75". 4 SEC. 3.
