The committee is convened this morning to begin the hearings on the Military Construction Authorization bill for fiscal year 1966, S. 1771. The companion bill soon to be considered by the House Armed Services Committee is H.R. 5885. The Secretary of the Army may establish or develop military installations and facilities by acquiring, constructing, converting, rehabilitating, or installing permanent or temporary public works, including site preparations, appurtenances, utilities and equipment for the following projects: INSIDE THE UNITED STATES CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES, LESS ARMY MATERIEL COMMAND Fort Devens, Massachusetts: Hospital facilities and troop housing, $11,008,000.
