A ciŕncia descritiva do sÚculo XIX Ú poÚtica. Para descrever o desconhecido usava-se palavras simples, termos leigos, que hoje em dia foram trocados por termos tÚcnicos. Gordura Ú chamada de ˇleo (ver em "fatty degeneration")!
╔ como se, ao observar e descrever nosso organismo, estivessem visitando outros planetas.
╔ igualmente interessante a propriedade com que se falava do conhecimento da Úpoca e mesmo hipˇteses, como se fossem a mais absoluta verdade, se bem que isso se altera de autor para autor.
Como imaginar que, ao estudar as partes do corpo, eles estavam sendo muito mais holÝsticos de que hoje, em que estudamos genes, secreš§es, matriz. Um olhar ampliado para os ˇrgŃos que ainda hoje insistimos em analisar os detalhes, e esquecemos de olhar como um todo, ingenuamente, e detectar singularidades que o conhecimento tabelado e a biologia molecular nos impede de ver.
