AND OTHER ADDITIONS MADE TO THE LIBRARY SINCE THAT DATE.

USUI CIVIUM, DECORI URBIUM.

LONDON:

PUBLISHED AT THE ROOMS OF THE INSTITUTE,

9, CONDUIT STREET, HANOVER SQUARE. W.

[blocks in formation]

THE LIBRARY of the Royal Institute of British Architects has already received, since

the publication of the Catalogue in 1865, such important additions from the munificent donation of £ 500. of their President, W. TITE, Esq., M.P.; from the Secretary of State for India; from T. C. HOPE, Esq., of Bombay; the Ecclesiological Society, and from the series of works kindly presented by Miss LEICESTER, a portion of the Library of her late brother, G. O. LEICESTER, Fellow, as well as from the contributions of other liberal Friends at home and abroad, that the Council have deemed it requisite to publish a Supplementary Catalogue of the recent accessions.

It will be perceived that Mr. TITE's donation has enabled the Library Committee to acquire a series of rare works, especially foreign, of high price and value, and of which the ordinary funds of the Institute would not have justified the purchase.

These will be found to be of great use to the Members, and will, on the whole, render this Library one of the most complete Collections of the finest productions on our Art.

There is, however, room for considerable additions, and the Council rely upon the continuance of liberal donations on the part of Members and Friends, still further to render the Library complete in every branch of art and science connected with Architecture.

SUPPLEMENTARY CATALOGUE,

SESSIONS 1864-65 TO 1867-68.

NOTE.-Duplicate copies of Works, the numbers of the Monthly and Weekly Journals, the Proceedings and Journals of Societies, and the parts of Works in progress, are not inserted, as they are continuations of those already named in the Catalogue.
