"The Mystery of Things" is a contemporary mystery-thriller with Catholic and literary themes borrowed from Spenser and Shakespeare. Set in Milwaukee, this is the story of James Ireton, a gifted but troubled young Shakespeare scholar who finds himself living out a recurring St. George-vs-the-Dragon nightmare. The upshot is, James discovers, he must find the strength to become St. George, or he will most certainly become the Dragon. The first in the planned five-book "Ashland Grail Cycle."
