And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls; having a golden oup in her hand, full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication. And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots, and Abominations of the Earth. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.

xvii, 6, 7, 9, 18. And when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. And the Angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads, and ten horns. . And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. . And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

TIME-that, at which Constantinople shall have been made the Metropolis of the Antichristian Empire-a period as yet future, and unknown.

xvii, 10. And they (Gr.) are seven kings : five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, be must continue a short space.

iv, 1,2 After these things I saw, and behold! a door was opened in heaven; and the first voice which I had heard, as it were of a trumpet talking with me, (compare i, 10,) said, Come up hither-and I will show thee things which must be hereafter. And immediately I was in the Spirit.

TIME—that at which "the Judgment will be about to be set” (Dan. vii, 10,) ou Antichrist, “and the Books” to be VI.

upon her head a crown of twelve stars.

TIME—that of Israel's restoration to the manifested favor of God in heaven-contemporaneously with the Judgment on Antichrist.

And she, being with child, cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.

TIME_That of “ Jacob's trouble” (Jer. xxx, 7,) on earth, contemporaneously with the restoration of Israel to the manifested favor of God in heaven. That also at which God will be about to bring again His First Begotten into the world. Heb. i, 6. (Margin).

SATAN IN HEAVEN, AS THE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE

BEAST-PREPARED TO DEVOUR THE “SON,” 80 SOON AS BROUGHT FORTH.

xii, 3, 4. And there appeared another wonder in heaven ; and behold! a great red dragon, having seven beads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

TIME-immediately anterior to the commencement of the 2400 days, which are to precede our Lord's second advent, (See Section xv).

THE PROMISED "SON" GIVEN TO THE HEBREW

CHURCH, AND-CAUGHT UP TO THE THRONE OF GOD.

xii, 5.

And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all the nations with a rod of iron. And her child was caught up unto God, and to His throne.

TIME-as annnounced in the last Section. That also of Messiah's introduction to the Ancient of Days, preparatory to his reception of " the crown of all the earth.” (Dan, vii, 13, 14).

THE JUDGMENT SET (DAN. vii. 10.) ON ANTICHRIST.

PART I. THE THRONES PLACED (DAN. vii, 9. lxx.) IN HEAVEN, AND CHRIST, AS THE ANCIENT OF DAYS, SEATED-PREPARATORY TO THE JUDGMENT ON THE BEAST.

iv, 2--6.

And behold, a throne was set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. And he that sat, was to look upon, like a jasper and a sardine stone. And there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. And round about the throne were four and twenty thrones, (Gr.) and upon the thrones · I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. And out of the throne proceeded lightnings, and thunderings, and voices. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. And before the throne was sea of glass, like unto crystal.
