HIS MISSION TO THE APOSTLE JOHN.

i, 1, 2.

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John; who bare record of the Word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that He

saw.

BABYLON AND THE BEAST. THE VISION, AS SHOWN TO JOHN BY THE ANGEL.

xvii, 3—6.

So he carried me away in the Spirit, into a wilderness. And I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having

seven heads, and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls; having a golden cup in her hand, full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication. And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots, and Abominations of the Earth. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.

BABYLON AND THE BEAST. THE INTERPRETATION, AS FURNISHED BY THE ANGEL, TO JOHN. 1

PART I. THE WOMAN-AND THE SEVEN HEADS, AS PREFIGURATIVE OF MOUNTAINS.

xvii, 6, 7, 9, 18.

And when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. And the Angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads, and ten horns. . And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

TIME-that, at which Constantinople shall have been made the Metropolis of the Antichristian Empire-a period as yet future, and unknown.

THE PROMISED REVELATION OF JUDGMENT ON THE

BEAST.

iv. 1,2.

After these things I saw, and behold! a door was opened in heaven; and the first voice which I had heard, as it were of a trumpet talking with me, (compare i, 10,) said, Come up hither-and I will show thee things which must be hereafter. And immediately I was in the Spirit.

TIME-that at which "the Judgment" will be about to be set" (Dan. vii, 10,) on Antichrist, "and the Books" to be opened" the interval between the accession of the sixth, and the death of the seventh Antichristian King.
