CHAPTER 673.

SENATE BILL No. 563.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of Sunflower county, Mississippi, to give and convey to the state of Mississippi for use as a state educational institution, the lands and buildings thereupon situated now used and occupied by the Sunflower County Agricultural High School.

Sunflower county may donate Sunflower County Agricultural High School to state for College site.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the board of supervisors of Sunflower county, Mississippi, be and they are hereby authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to give and convey to the state of Mississippi for use as a state educational institution, the lands and buildings thereupon situated now used and occupied by the Sunflower County Agricultural High School.

Sec. 2. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 674.

SENATE BILL No. 565.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of Sunflower county, Mississippi, to give and convey certain property belong-. ing to said county to the Delta State Teachers' College.

Sunflower county may give certain property to Delta State Teachers College.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the board of supervisors of Sunflower county, in the state of Mississippi, be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to give and convey to the Delta State Teachers' College the south half (S) and the northeast quarter (NE) of section (15), township (18), north, range (3) west in said county of Sunflower and state of Mississippi, the said above described property being the property now of the county of Sunflower, provided that the Delta State Teachers' College shall be located in Sunflower county.

Sec. 2. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

AN ACT authorizing the board of supervisors of Sunflower county to levy for each of the years 1924 and 1925 on all of the taxable property in Sunflower county, in addition to all other taxes, an ad valorem tax of one mill on the dollar for the purpose of raising funds with which to equip, conduct and maintain during said years the Delta State Teachers' College, in the event said Delta State Teachers' College shall be located in Sunflower county under the provisions of Senate Bill Number 263.

Sunflower county may levy tax to secure Delta State Teachers College.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the board of supervisors of Sunflower county, Mississippi, be and it is hereby authorized to levy for each of the years 1924 and 1925 on all of the taxable property in Sunflower county, in addition to all other taxes, an ad valorem tax of one mill on the dollar for the purpose of raising funds with which to equip, conduct and maintain during said years the Delta State Teachers' College, in the event said Delta State Teachers' College shall be located in Sunflower county under the provisions of Senate Bill No. 263.

Sec. 2. The tax levy provided for in section 1 of this act may be levied by said board of supervisors even though it may exceed any limitation now authorized by law.

Sec. 3. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 676.

HOUSE BILL No. 823.

AN ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Sunflower county to issue the bonds of the Hushpuckena separate road district in said county.

Hushpuckena Separate Road District may issue bonds.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the board of supervisors of Sunflower county are hereby authorized to issue the bonds of Hushpuckena separate road district, in said county, to an amount not in excess of fifteen per cent (15%) of the assessed valuation of the real and personal property in said district, as shown by the assessment rolls of said.

Sec. 2. Said bonds shall be issued under all of the conditions and requirements of, and shall be made in all respects to conform with the provisions of chapter 207 of the acts of 1920, and amendments thereto, except as modified in this act.

Sec. 3. That this act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 677.

HOUSE BILL No. 653.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the superintendent of education of Sunflower county, Mississippi, to pay to the Drew Municipal Separate School District the sum of $976.05, the same being its pro rata for pupils outside said district attending school in said district for the session 1922 and 1923.

Superintendent of Education may pay Drew Municipal Separate School Dis. trict certain funds.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the superintendent of education of Sunflower county, Mississippi, be and he is hereby authorized and empowered to pay to the Drew Municipal Separate School District the sum of $976.05, the same being the amount due said school district for the session of 1922 and 1923.

To be paid from county common school fund.

Sec. 2. That the superintendent of education be authorized to pay the same out of the county common school fund now on hand. Sec. 3. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 678.

HOUSE BILL No. 743.

AN ACT authorizing the board of supervisors and superintendent of education of Sunflower county, Mississippi, in their discretion, to pay to the Sunflower Municipal Separate School District, not exceeding five hundred four ($504.00) being that part of the general county school funds due for students residing outside the district and who attended the municipal separate school for scholastic years 1922-1923. Board of supervisors and superinter.dent of education may pay Sunflower Municipal Separate School District certain funds.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the board of supervisors and superintendent of

education of Sunflower county, Mississippi, be and the same are hereby authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to pay to the Sunflower municipal separate school district a sum not exceeding five hundred four dollars ($504.00) to be paid out of any of the general county school funds not otherwise appropriated, for students residing outside of the district who were in attendance in the Sunflower Municipal Separate District during the scholastic year 1922 and 1923.

Sec. 2. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 679.

SENATE BILL No. 389.

AN ACT authorizing the board of supervisors of Tallahatchie county, Mississippi, to borrow not exceeding ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) for the common school fund of said county.

Tallahatchie county may borrow money for common schools.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the board of supervisors of Tallahatchie county, Mississippi, be and they are hereby authorized, in their discretion, to borrow a sum of money not to exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) from their county treasury out of any funds of the county, including sinking funds, and including county or supervisors district road sinking funds, or in their discretion, from any person or corporation for the purpose of supplementing the common school fund of said county, and to enable common schools of said county to operate for the year 1924. And the said board of supervisors may issue their negotiable note, or notes, therefor, maturing not later than February 1st, 1925, with the rate of interest not to exceed six per cent per annum.

How loan to be re-paid.

Sec. 2. That the said loan shall be re-paid out of the common school fund next accruing to said county, or in the discretion of the said board, the said board shall levy taxes for the year 1924 sufficient to pay the amount borrowed, with interest, under the provisions of this act.

Sec. 3. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 680.

SENATE BILL No. 482.

AN ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Tallahatchie county, Mississippi, in their discretion, to maintain the bridge over Hobson Bayou in the town of Tutwiler, and to assume and pay not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) of the outstanding indebtedness against the cost of said bridge.

Tallahatchie county authorized to maintain bridge over Hobson Bayou.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the board of supervisors of Tallahatchie county, Mississippi, be, and they are hereby authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to maintain and keep up the bridge in the town of Tutwiler, Mississippi, over Hobson Bayou where the highway leading from Sumner in said county to Memphis, Tennessee, crosses said bayou in said town and to assume and pay out of any funds in the county treasury that may be available, not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) of the outstanding indebtedness of said town of Tutwiler in said Tallahatchie county, contracted for the construction of said bridge, to repair and maintain said bridge from and after the passage of this act, and to repair, maintain or rebuild said bridge at any time it may become necessary so to do in the discretion of the said board of supervisors of Tallahatchie county.

Sec. 2. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 681.

SENATE BILL No. 404.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of Tallahatchie county, Mississippi, in their discretion, to pay Dr. D. G. Bardwell, the sum of five hundred dollars, or so much thereof as they may think proper and right, out of the common school fund of the county, for the loss and destruction by fire of a house on his plantation, while being used by said county as a public school house.

Tallahatchie county may pay Dr. D. G. Bardwell out of common school funds for house burned.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the board of supervisors of Tallahatchie county, Mississippi, be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to pay to Dr. D. G. Bardwell, the sum of five hundred dollars, or so much thereof, as they may think proper and right, in their discretion, out of the common school fund of said county, for the
