IT having been represented to the author that the publication of short sermons which would not occupy more than ten minutes or a quarter of an hour in the reading, was much desired for the use of families, he was induced to prepare the present little volume for such a purpose. He makes no pretensions to originality or depth, but it has been his aim to explain the doctrines and precepts of our holy religion with as much clearness and simplicity as possible. He will be happy if he shall be found in some measure to have attained this object; and prays that the Holy Spirit may vouchsafe to bless his humble efforts. |
