ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE

Guaranteed and insured loans.

To finance construction and rehabilitation of facilities accommodating 20 or more patients requiring skilled nursing care and related medical services; or facilities for patients needing minimum but continuous care of licensed or trained personnel. Nursing home and intermediate care facilities may be combined in same facility.

ELIGIBILITY

Investors, builders, developers, and private nonprofit corporations.

SPECIAL COMMENTS

Maximum mortgage equal to 90 percent replacement cost, in most cases. Maximum term 20 years, or three-fourths of remaining economic life, whichever is less.

Face value of mortgages insured for fiscal year 1970 was $88.3 million; fiscal year 1971-$121.2 million (estimate); fiscal year 1972-$138.2 million (estimate).

For construction of educational facilities. Also for cost of equipment.

Facilities may not be used for sectarian instruction or for religious worship.

ELIGIBILITY

Collegiate, associate degree, or diploma schools of nursing. Schools must be accredited by or located in institution accredited by the Commissioner of Education.

SPECIAL COMMENTS

Federal share of financing: up to two-thirds for new construction; up to one-half for replacement, renovation, or minor expansion.

Obligations for fiscal year 1970 were $8 million; for fiscal year 1971-$8 million (estimate); fiscal year 1972-$8 million (estimate).
