LETTER TO SUBCOMMITTEE

Senator PASTORE. The committee will please come to order.

This morning we will hear the Commissioners of the District of Columbia on the overall budget estimates requested for 1958, and more particularly the restorations requested to the House bill in the amount of $4,977,040.

Before you gentlemen begin with your presentation, I will place in the record Commissioner McLaughlin's letter of May 21, 1957, on the amendments requested; also the supplemental estimated transmitted by the President on May 20, in the amount of $2,254,900.
