AN ACT to amend section 1 of chapter 216, laws of 1924 (section 4291 Hemingway's Code of 1927) so as to authorize the board of supervisors of any county in the state of Mississippi to revise the budget of their respective counties at any one regular meeting held not later than May of that year in which a new term of office for boards of supervisors begins; Provided, that this act shall not validate or invalidate any contracts entered into by the board of supervisors of the preceding term.

AN ACT to amend section 12 of chapter 245 of the laws of 1916, section 5589 of chapter 137 of Hemingway's Annotated Mississippi Code of 1917, and section 6454 of chapter 148 of Hemingway's Annotated Mississippi Code of 1927, so as to raise the rank of aides appointed by the governor on his staff from the unorganized militia to the title of colonel.

AN ACT to amend house bill number 3 of the laws of 1928, approved January 11, 1928, so as to provide for the abatement of damages on privilege taxes on motor vehicles, trailers, etc., provided such taxes are paid on or before the first day of February, 1928, and providing for refund of county and state's part of such damages.

AN ACT to prevent the tax collectors of the counties and or municipalities of the state which were wholly or partially inundated by the flood waters of the Mississippi river during the year 1927, from selling lands so flooded on the first Monday of April, 1928, for the taxes delinquent thereon for the fiscal year 1927, damages or costs, under section 4326, Mississippi Code of 1906; postponing such sales until the first Monday of June, 1928; preventing the advertisement of such sales until after May 1, 1928; extending the time for filing the conveyance to individuals and lists of land struck off to the state in the proper office; preventing the collection of damages on taxes delinquent for said fiscal year of 1927 until on and after May 1, 1928.

AN ACT to amend chapter 138 of the laws of 1922, amended by chapter 139 of the laws of 1922, so as to provide that the tangible property therein exempted from taxation shall include such new buildings or structures as may be erected by others, for the purpose of being leased or rented and actually leased or rented to such factories or enterprises together with the lands necessary therefor.
